“Fastest Web Hosting”This is How I Choose.

Well, I hope by now you have searched for One question best reliable & fastest web hosting provider all over the internet and ended up with a few more questions like,

Whom should I believe?

Whom should I follow?

Who is reliable with information?

And more.

In the end, you are left with lots of questions and confusion.

One website states that A, B and C hosting providers are best.

Another website states that A is worst. B is good, and C is not at all recommended.

Moreover, few other websites say that X, Y and Z hosting providers are best and reliable. Names that you have not heard so far.

Fastest Web Hosting

Yes, it sucks and I feel you guys. I have been there before.

Top of that lots of features from each hosting provider makes this process a lot worse. For those who are just starting out, it is Unimaginable.

Let me tell you why review sites and bloggers do so. You are familiar with the concept One size does not fit all right! There are multiple segments in the market  like,

  • Those who are concerned about pricing.
  • Those who do not give a damn about pricing and are more concerned about the reliability of the service they receive.
  • Those who want cheap pricing as well as reliable service (which is rare to get, in my opinion)

And more.

Each company has its product (hosting) mix, which can cater to all the above type of segmentation.

Now the key to choosing a hosting provider is understanding your requirements.

In my earlier days of blogging, I know nothing of website hosting. It was the hardest to find the best one.

It was almost like looking for a needle in a haystack. However, today I find it so easy to choose one, cause I am very clear about what I want. It is because of the understanding of my requirements.

Well, in this post I am going to share how I choose my Fastest web hosting provider.

Sit back and grab a drink. This is a lengthy post, I wrote every step I followed in finding the best web hosting provider.

Well, let’s start with

What level of Knowledge do I have now?

Fastest Web Hosting

In the past one year, I learned many things related to blogging.

I understood the basic requirements of a website, and I am glad that today I stand at a phase where I can share my knowledge with you guys.

Thus, I can say I have sufficient knowledge to pick out my fastest web hosting provider by Considering many features.

Read: 8 [Hidden] Things You Must Know Before you Sign-Up for Web Hosting.

Then how did I choose my first web hosting provider?

Well, in the initial days I was not sure whether I would be at this point today.

So, I choose one cheap hosting provider at a discounted price. It was a hard decision to make with next to no knowledge of hosting.

As days passed, I came to know that there were few essential features that my hosting provider is not providing.

Tip #1: Cheap+Unlimited=Limited features. (Seems Fair)

It was not a big deal cause I was learning as much as possible about Wordpress, Cpanel, Designing my site, Content Creation, Content Marketing, SEO, Email Marketing and other digital marketing topics.

It gave me exposure to how it is like to have a self-hosted WordPress blog.

Traffic was not a primary concern to me in the initial days. I treated it as a training field rather than an actual game.

Tip #2: If you are serious about your game, change your (Thinking) plan of action.

The issue with the current host.

Fastest Web Hosting

Update: I No Longer Recommend Web Hosting Providers that come under EIG Group. Ehost has created a lot of issues after 3 months of using their service. And JustHost continued in their path. I have shared only my first three months of experience with them.

So far my hosting provider (EHOST) Customer support is good, they respond quickly.

However, I cannot say the same about Uptime. Moreover, I came to know the Importance of Uptime.

One day my site went down for almost 4 hours, and I texted support team in live chat. They responded quickly, but their answer was not satisfactory.

They told me, it would take another two hours to resolve the issue. For me, with no traffic, it is not a problem.

Imagine If you are a site owner with a decent amount of traffic.

That is not the real problem to me. EHOST moving all of its user’s sites to another hosting provider JustHost which is their partner brand, and they claim it is for superior performance.

I did not sign-up for this sort of activity. I do not like the service which switches me to another company in the middle of the contract.

I checked the reviews of JustHost hoping it has some positive reviews.

To my surprise, I found a lot of negative reviews all over the web.

Don’t take my word see here, here, and here.

Why is it a big deal?

When was the last time you visited a web page that took forever to load?

Recently my site started gaining traction.

There was a delay in page loads. My web pages are taking more time than the industry average standard time.

All the page ranking tools out there are pointing towards page loading speed to improve. I optimised images, on my site and yet no improvement in page speed.

Fastest Web Hosting

Page Speed with Ehost

Though it was a small amount of traffic, yet I did not like the slow page loading and itself evident that, If you do not like your page loading speed then how come you expect your readers to like it.

  • Page Loading Speed is One of the metrics Out of 200 metrics that Google considers to rank a page.
  • Just 1% drop in uptime will cost you more than 7 hours downtime in a year.
  • Visitors will deflect from your site if it takes too much time to load thus increasing bounce rate.
  • Higher the speed higher the User experience & Higher the conversions.

My Decision journey for Fastest Web Hosting starts here.

I realised this is the time to move my site to reliable & the fastest web hosting provider.

So, I hit the Google Search button with the keyword Best Web hosting Provider.

Before going any further, let me tell you one thing

I was very clear about a few things before diving into Google search.

  • My requirements
  • What are the features provided and What are the features I need.
  • Current Technological Trend in Web Hosting Infrastructure.
  • Which type of Hosting I need.
  • My budget limits.
  • My website future growth and easy Scalability options.

With these considerations in my mind, I went through all of the links and read every review of hosting providers.

After reading all the reviews, To be honest, at this point, I am a lot more confused than I was before.

It did not stop me there I dive deep into search results with different combinations of keywords. I made a list of Potential Hosting providers.

Fastest Web Hosting

Back to my confidence level, I went to YouTube, Searched with different combinations of keywords. After watching a few videos, I gained some confidence. Now my list size has gone down by a few numbers.

Still, I am left with few hosting providers.

Then I looked into Facebook groups.

fastest web hostingfastest web hosting

Here I paid more attention to polls created by popular groups and developers reviews because they work with many clients, so they have good experience in choosing hosting providers as it determines their quality of service among their customers.

Tip #3: You can leverage Social media While making such decisions.

Here I am left with four potential Fastest web hosting providers in shared hosting. Each has an excellent reputation in the industry and recommended by many developers, & Popular bloggers. With a lot of positive reviews, each has its unique selling proposition.

Here is the list of these Hosting providers and I ranked them according to my needs and budget.

  1. SiteGround
  2. Inmotion
  3. DreamHost
  4. Bluehost

Let me give you metrics that I considered to rank these services in such order.

My Opinion:

So many bloggers recommend Bluehost.Their basic plan is priced cheaper only if you sign up for 3 years.

Fastest Web hosting

I did not find Built-in Cacher, Uptime and CDN features on website So, I had to contact their sales support team to know more details on their basic plan.

fastest web hosting

After waiting 5 minutes I got a response, Even then I did not get complete information from their sales representative. I got information only about CDN but not on Built-in Cacher and Uptime. If you guys find their Uptime guarantee on their Official website, please do let me know in the comments section. Honestly, I could not find it.

When it comes to plans, Prime plan is worth considering if you are comfortable with not having a free CDN and Free Inbuilt Cacher.

It would be wise to look into Bluehost Terms of service.

Fastest Web hosting

2. Dreamhost:

Fastest Web Hosting

Dreamhost founded in 1997. Headquarters located in Los Angeles. Over 1.5 million websites are hosted on Dreamhost. Dreamhost has built its own CPanel to streamline the process for Non-techies.

  • Shared Plan: Yes, they support multiple low traffic sites.

  1. The company in News/Mentionings:

Dreamhost is also one among the recommended list of wordpress.org. I did not go further with Dreamhost cause their plans are not worth considering to me.

My Opinion:

Dreamhost states that Shared plans are for low traffic sites.  Dream press managed WordPress hosting is only for single WordPress site. Considering my plans for this blog and as per my present requirements, Dreamhost is bit expensive.

Fastest Web hosting

3. Inmotion:

Fastest Web Hosting

Inmotion founded in 2001, One of the largest Independent Web Hosting Companies in the world.  Inmotion Offers three plans in Shared Wordpress hosting, and they go with names LAUNCH, POWER & PRO.

When I searched the web, I found mixed reviews about Bluehost shared plan. However, when it came to Inmotion shared plans I found the majority of positive reviews.

Of course, there were negative reviews too, and most of them are developers who are having their client sites on their shared hosting plan.

Another reason being the usage of SSD over HDD storage systems. FYI SSD provides increased performance and reliability over mechanical hard drives.

Caution: Inmotion offers Two types of shared hosting

  1. Shared Business Hosting
  2. WordPress Hosting

Above pages almost look alike with little difference. I am looking into WordPress Hosting.

  1. Multiple Websites:
  • LAUNCH plan offers 2 websites to host
  • POWER plan offers 6 websites.
  • PRO plan offers unlimited websites
  1. SSD Storage (Disk Space):
  • All of the plans include unlimited storage space. However, it is recommended to check their Terms of Service.
  1. Bandwidth:
  • All of the plans include unlimited Bandwidth. However, it is recommended to check their Terms of Service.
  1. Parked Domains:
  • LAUNCH plan offers 6 parked domains.
  • POWER plan offers 26 parked domains.
  • PRO plan offers Unlimited Parked domains.
  1. Subdomains:
  • LAUNCH plan offers 25 Subdomains.
  • POWER plan offers 100 Subdomains.
  •  PRO plan offers Unlimited Sub Domains.
  1. Free SSL.:
  • All the plans include free SSL.
  1. Backup:
  • All the plans include free Automatic backups.
  • Restore Option is available for free, but once in four months.
  • For additional Restores, Inmotion charges $49.
  • Sites with more than 10GB files are not included in Auto Backup.
  1. Built in Caching:
  • Inmotion claims they use CloudLinux platform with OptimumCache feature.

However, CloudLinux on their official blog stated that OptimumCache feature had been discontinued from their platform.

  1. Built-in Free CDN:
  • Inmotion has their max speed zone which is limited to the US alone.
  1. Customer Support (Chat, Email, Phone):
  • All the plans include Chat, Email, & Phone Support.
  1. Uptime Guarantee:

When I read Inmotion terms of service, I Found the following for Pro plan users.

If your Business Class Pro Server has a physical downtime that is not within the 99.9% uptime, you may receive one month of credit on your account. Approval of the credit is at the discretion of InMotion Hosting, dependent upon the results of the check performed by InMotion Hosting Customer Support.

  1. Scalability:

Inmotion has high scalable hosting options. However, they do not have cloud hosting option.

  • Shared Business Hosting
  • VPS Hosting
  • Dedicated servers
  • WordPress Hosting
  1. Free Site/Cpanel Migration:

Inmotion offers free Site Migration with no downtime. However, this service is not applicable for more than 3 websites. Here is what Inmotion says about this.

Costs may apply to transfers consisting of greater than 3 sites and/or databases or more than 5GB data.

  1. Pricing:

LAUNCH Plan: $5.99 /month if you choose the 24-month plan.

$6.99 /month if you choose the 12-month plan.

POWER Plan: $7.99 /month if you choose the 24-month plan.

$8.99 /month if you choose the 12-month plan.

PRO Plan: $13.99 /month if you choose the 12-month plan.

My Opinion:

One thing I like about Inmotion is that they are upfront about their plans. I did not have a chance to contact their support team because I found all the features I am looking for right in one place. Tabulating all the features makes the process easier for a beginner.

At first, I was a bit confused with a business plan and WordPress hosting plan. They maintained two different pages for both when almost all the features remain same. Except for Pro support feature

There was positive talk around the web about Inmotion hosting. However, Inmotion prices are Much better when compared to Dreamhost plans.

I am not going for Inmotion for two reasons

  1. They do not have CDN, Of course, they have Max Speed Zone, which is ideal for US websites and Surrounding countries. My site traffic is primarily from India.
  2. I Am no more a fan of the word Unlimited not anymoreI like the plan Pro but it is beyond my planned budget, and it is expensive too.

  •    GoGeek Plan: $11.95 /month if you choose the 12-month plan(66% discount).
  1. The company in News/Mentionings:

Well, SiteGround is also one among the recommended list of wordpress.org

 My Opinion:

SiteGround has a decent amount of features that every beginner needs, in all of their plans.

Another feature I would like to add here is a Wordpress Auto-update a feature Which keeps WordPress updated all the time.

That is not all; I tested SiteGround Pre-sales live chat support, and It was amazingly fastest response I received.

Among all of the above providers, SiteGround has the best support, and they are no doubt knowledgeable.

When I asked their pre-sales support team about site migration details, their response was swift, unlike Bluehost & Dreamhost.

The only limitation with SiteGround is the number of approximate visits that each plan has given.
Fastest Web hostingWell, that is what I found on these hosting providers. Of course, there was a lot more information than I mentioned here.

My Thoughts on Hosting Providers (Business Perspective):

There were Positive as well as Negative reviews of many hosts. Among them, I found above providers as much better. I am not saying these providers are the best or worst because there is a huge competition in shared hosting business in the market.

Standing out in such competition by providing best in class quality at competitive pricing is not an easy thing for any Hosting provider.

Top of that judging these guys just by using basic plan is also not a good idea.

Summarising the Premium plans in the table below:

bluehost vs siteground vs dreamhost vs inmotion wordpress hosting

Final Decision on Fastest Web Hosting:

Fastest Web Hosting

The above information will suffice to make my decision.

I am considering the SiteGround GrowBig plan; It has all the features I needed.

Free Site transfer, Free CDN and right fit to my wallet.

Having limits ensures you the exact amount of bite you are supposed to get. NO matter you use it or not, it will be reserved for you.

In shared Hosting With the unlimited option, your site will be placed along with a bunch of websites on the same server. If other sites receive any spike in traffic, it might affect your site performance.

However, with SiteGround, I am assured that if others sites are consuming too many resources then they will be asked to upgrade their plans, or their resource consumption will be suspended/reduced.

Top of that I am assured that I will get what I am promised. There are cases where SiteGround offered more than what they promised.

It does not mean that others are not doing the same. They do, and they have mentioned in their Terms of Service & Policies about too much consumption of server resources. However, being specific lets me plan accordingly in advance.

Tip #4: If it is Unlimited, first, check terms of service of that plan.

Note: I have considered only shared hosting plans but not cloud hosting. Cloud hosting is another type of website hosting solution, But from the beginner’s point of view, it is not recommendable. I will share more info on Cloud hosting in my future posts.

Summary of my Sign up process with SiteGround:

  1. I Signed Up for the SiteGround GrowBig plan.

Fastest Web Hosting

  1. Registration was easy, and then I requested Site transfer.
  2. Remember SiteGround will ask your previous host login details, to initiate the transfer process. I provided them with the information they need.
  3. I was asked to approve the transfer of Cpanel from my previous host (Ehost) to SiteGround.
  4. After approval, Within one hour my Cpanel data were moved to SiteGround.
  5. As a final step, I was asked to point my DNS name servers to SiteGround.
  6. Within 24 hours my sites started serving from SiteGround.

Page speed with SiteGround hosting:

I tested the page speed after my site moved to SiteGround and the results are amazing. These tests are done without using CDN(Content Distribution Network). You can see results here.

Caution: You will get either one free site, transfer or one full Cpanel account transfer for free. If you go for individual site transfer, You will get first site transfer for free, and since then they will charge you for each additional site.

I had four sites in my Cpanel account I requested full Cpanel transfer.

Above features that I considered as my requirements are well suitable for almost all the beginners. You can sign up for Siteground here today. I am confident that you will love the Siteground service.
